Making better use of space
Multi-room Renovation, Duncraig
The layout of this home in Perth's northern suburbs was no longer working for the family. Some ten years ago, a second storey had been added with three bedrooms, an activity room and powder room. But, with older children and changing family dynamics, it was time to make better use of space.
Upstairs, the powder and activity rooms were converted into a main bathroom and linen cupboard. Moving the main bathroom upstairs created more room downstairs for a larger ensuite, laundry, walk-in robe and powder room.
The overall design is contemporary with wall-hung vanities, inwall cisterns, walk-in showers and quality tapware. The client chose the same products for each room to keep the style uniform. The contrasting wall tiles in white, charcoal and a hexagonal feature give the rooms a dramatic and luxurious feel. While the grey floor tiles provide consistency and flow.
Feature bathroom and laundry products:
The basins are a simple, shallow vessel style which are offset beautifully with the round wall mirrors. The tapware is Astra Walker Icon+ Lever range with a rectangular backplate and sturdy lever, and the rail showers are from Swiss brand, NDW. For toilets, the Kerasan Flo wall-faced toilet pans are complemented with TECE inwall cisterns and TECENow flush buttons.
