This Bathroom Renovation Called for Structural Changes and Creative Design
Built 10 years ago, the master ensuite in this home was in desperate need of a renovation due to water damage and cracking in the cornice. In response to the client’s design brief, we created a luxurious and contemporary retreat, with more usable space in the WC and shower areas, and more privacy between the master bedroom and ensuite. The custom-made barn door adds privacy and a distinctive design element.
To open up the space alongside the window, the inset spa bath was replaced with a streamlined freestanding model. We also reconstructed the wall adjacent to the WC to allow for a cavity sliding door and increase the width of the WC. This meant the shower recess could be expanded and a ceiling-mounted overhead shower installed.
